Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon, is really sorry for the pain he caused Lennon and his family.
The imprisoned Chapman, 59, told a parole board at the Wende Correctional Facility in Buffalo, New York, that he is sorry "for causing that type of pain" on Lennon. "I am sorry for being such an idiot and choosing the wrong way for glory," he told the board, who denied him release.
"Many, many people loved him. He was a great and talented man and they are still hurting," Chapman told the board. "I get letters so that's a major factor. It's not a regular crime."
Chapman fired five shots into John Lennon's Manhattan home on Dec. 8, 1980, four of which struck Lennon.

Exactly. People seem to bypass his formidable flaws. They do the same thing with Michael Jackson.
Their artistry doesn't take away from the kind of person they were to others who didn't fit their standards.

Not to say he deserved to die, but really? Greatest men to walk the earth?
He made good and unforgettable music that defined an entire generation. While not justified and I don't agree with it, most people look past his flaws because of this. Same with Michael Jackson.
