I've been following Gaga pre TF to know that she really did shock just to shock. The vessel, Jo Calderon, the horns, the pregnant belly at BBC, Judas, and more....
She went from 'guess what we she will do next' to 'oh, she's going to show up as a giant chair. She's so annoying.' Gaga became her gimmicks. What she should have done was focus on the music. BTW was entirely different, and the album was incredible. We expected long videos and 'crazy Gaga.' BTW would have been an epic visual era/album that relied on Stefani showing the world, through her music, that she's freaking talented. BTW definitely did not need a major gimmick. It needed a major reinvention. It's funny because this was the one Madonna thing she could not replicate during this era.
Glad I was the first person to think of it.
