Am I the only one who rolled my eyes when Beyonce changed the chorus of XO during the VMAs to only say:

"You love me like XO"

over and over?

But you literally just said that no one cares about televised award show performances.

considering you were like the only person watching, it's safe to assume you were the only one to roll your eyes

All this seething when the fact is Beyonce is very respected even among people who don't use her music.

She was there in 2012. Every era she gives some kind of performance to BET .

It was a horrible show that no one watched, and Bey was identified by literally every single media outlet as one of the only highlights, and the only performance that got talked about the next day.

I get that y'all have trouble comprehending anything beyond 2 digit numbers but work with me a bit here.

If you don't believe that The Monster Ball, The Born This Way Ball, The Mrs. Carter Show, etc. sales were not helped by live performances, then I'm not sure what to tell you...

M!X, regarding your edit: there's a reason why the Prismatic Tour and Teenage Dream Tours don't match the success of her singles and albums. Sure, they still sell (because she does have star power), but she's not doing anything of the caliber 200m+ (unless it gets like a TON of dates).

People go on tour because they like the singer/want to see them live and enjoy most of his singles

This argument would make sense if her tours were struggling, her super bowl performance wasn't watched by 100 million+ people, and if the media and GP weren't identifying her performance as the only redeeming aspect of the 2014 VMAs.

But as is, it makes no sense. Do better.

Look at the 20/20 Tour. People enjoy JT's performances on TV; therefore, they buy tickets to their tours. Live performances on TV are definitely important (which is what Lipton was trying to disprove).
