Is it true that other unplayed families wont age ? I always play with just one family and cant imagine others will stay in their age forever.
it looks cool otherwise
They will age, but they won't have other generations. They won't marry, have babies or move houses. Once they die, the game will generate another family to take it's place.
Since everyone is making Sims 4 out to be an awful game already before it's even released, I'd like to take us all back in time for a second. The year is 2009. Sims 3 is about to be released and everyone has lost their chill. Why's that you ask? Because compared to Sims 2, Sims 3 looks terrible. I mean look at everything the base game is missing.
Missing Gameplay Elements:

I should hope EVERYONE was rejoicing when they got rid of cockroaches in The Sims 3. Those ****ers always clogged up my memories bar and made my sims get diseases.
There are more new features than removed features. You shouldn't expect everything from previous games, since The Sims 3 removed half the features of The Sims 2.
The new features aren't better than the features they removed tho.
Y'all and sit and list the features that TS3 removed from TS2, but TS3 actually INNOVATED (open world, etc) whereas TS4 didn't, hence why these reductions are BIG problems, especially since it's the "successor" to the biggest Sims game yet.
TS4 is CLEARLY rushed (exposed by a few Sims blogs as a scrapped Sims MMO project). Despite this, I'm not really bothered about the situation too much. What they've came up with is actually quite decent so far but I'll see how the final product is on release day and see if it's worth my coin before refusing it.

Innovate
make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.

Oh really? So if I have a GF in another household as a teen, I'll still be able to date her when she ages up?

TS3 seemed pretty rushed too. They packed so many new features into it but they were all buggy and incomplete. They tried to fix it with all those patches but there was only so much they could do when the whole thing was so poorly coded.
At least TS4 isn't laggy and has features that actually work properly. Most of the missing features aren't completely necessary at launch. I'm happy with them creating a good foundation for them to build on later on.
TS4 is a new game.
Why expect things from 3 to be carried over?
Cause its going from 3 to 4 as in advancement. They could've titled it The Sims: Emotions!!1!1! At this point, it doesn't even matter. I don't think people who truly loved TS3 for what it was will be happy with this game so we'll have to wait till TS5
Ditto @ MrTiko's post! It's a successor within a franchise. It's pretty common to expect evolution with sequels.

I agree, TS3 was a mess, but it had a lot of nice new features at it's time. I'm not sure what to think of TS4, though. It seems more polished for what little is there, but I don't think it can be saved from the mess that they create with EP's. Expansion packs always tend to slow down the game anyway, TS2 takes forever to load even on my high-end machine with all the expansions. I just think the nature of how they deal with EP's really makes all of their games sluggish after time. I don't see how they can make TS4 exempt from this.
TS4 will probably have similar issues to the earlier games as we get more content.
Can't believe it will be out in a week, seems like just yesterday when it was announced. I was sceptic at first but then the demo was released and I can honestly say I enjoyed CaS more than I enjoyed the whole horrible, laggy, poorly executed piece of crap full of UGLY Sims that TS3 was. And who cares about toddlers and pools really (I say this as someone who is playing Sims since the first part), the most important thing for me is that the game is smooth, fun and enjoyable like first 2 parts were, and building mode and overall feel of life mode from what we have seen looks just like that.

TS4 definitely won't be as smooth as it is right now as more expansions are added but it won't be anywhere near the trainwreck that was TS3. They've really worked on performance in this game (sacrificing the open world/CASt) and I don't see why that will change with EPs.
Let's call a spade a spade. When you can't take your babies out of the bassinet and walk around, something aint right. When all of the rabit holes are removed and just replaced with away actions somethin aint right. When the world is closed and smaller than a TS2 world again, something aint right. Y'all can go on on and on but at the end of the day, this game is rushed and left out core elements of the previous ones.Emotions and the CAS sculpting was not worth the things taken out personally speaking. Instead of fixing and working on the issues of TS3, cause I'll admit there were a few, they just removed them and then some. Sorry for the rant but as someone who played The Sims series since Sim Hotel, Sim Ant, Sim City, and TS1, up until The Sims 3 Into The Future, I'm just sooo disappointed.

If ppl love playing TS3 then they can just play that.
It's not like anyone is stopping them.
