I believe it was live. The only thing that might make me question it would be how she didn't say "thank you" for the applause. I think all other performers say "thank you." I mean, if your mic is on, why not thank the audience? I notice Britney used to do the same thing. She'd just stand there and smile. Nothing audible.

i think she gets depressed everytime she flops or does something wrong and as a result she looses her voice. she was lypsincing. i hope her next album is better.

Her voice has been bad since the beginning of the era when she had a #1 hit and sold 480K first week.

Ok, People who think she is singing LIVE, listen to the song and this performance, her vocals are JUST THE SAME, and how could she "magically" hit the notes that perfect after we have seen performances of this song, and she actually TRIES to sing it live, and it sounds horrible!! She is lipsynching, you could TELL by the way she was moving, and holding the mic REALLY close to her mouth!!!!!!!!!!

how sad to think that the ONLY person who didn't sing live tonight, is supposed to be the singer who has "the best vocal pipes in the world."

'Make or break up can't take this madness', she sings 'Try and try to hard to keep our love alive'. Its not the same.

She sings a lot of the low parts after the verses that you CANNOT hear on the CD version.

And on 'It cuts so deep, it hurts down to my soul', her 'soul' is dragged on TWO notes. So-ul. Not ONE note on the CD version.

That happens, once again on 'We said let go', during the climax, when her GO is 2 notes, not one.
And besides, she's flat one some notes if you can hear. She is not lip-syncing, alright.

I've listened to the X Factor a million times and yes, she WAS lip syncing on that one, only singing the climax, and a little of the beginning. But not this one.
