People on ATRL like to act as if after an underperforming era everything you have done earlier in your career suddenly stops having any meaning.

And it's mostly creepy. She overshadowed so many pop girls for so long it's only natural for all of their fans to want to cut into Gaga at some point - even though they're claims about her not deserving her recognition are baseless and bitter.

Now, it's "cool" to kind of drag her and discredit her worldwide domination when she was the hottest ticket in town. People just follow trends; the tide will change again as it always does.

The thing is, when someone achieves so much in such a short space of time, people get sick of seeing their constant success so try and find ways to bring them down. She had literally everything, was a threat to everyone and no one could go into town without hearing/seeing her. People don't like seeing someone on top for so long, which is why everyone rooted for Katy when they were starting their new album campaigns. Katy and capitol knew they would beat her considering the public were more on her side, they weren't afraid to release Roar around the same time.
