Yeah I agree that him using the world 'normal' and 'my music can relate to anybody!!!1!' is cringeworthy and seems desperate but it also seems unfair that him being successful and gay automatically makes him poster child for problems gay people face. He's still at the beginning of his career and has to make careful choices of how to present himself to the GP if he wants longer career.
