Sam Smith has said this in a recent interview about dating apps like Grindr

I agree with him 1,000% but since I'm still in closet it gets really lonely and Grindr is like all I have to meet gay people. I don't always have sex with them. Sometimes it's just nice to talk, but he's right.

This is a good point
While I agree with what Sam is saying, for many people, especially teens in the closet or gay people in areas where it isn't safe, apps like Grindr can be the only way to find other gay people

I don't think they're ruining romance. They provide options for what people want besides just dating.

I personally don't use Grindr or even the dating app Tindr just because I feel like I only connect with people in person, but all my friends use Tindr just for the fun of it.

Yeah and I even met one really good gay friend that I have on there. He's so nice and has helped me through so much, and if it wasn't for Grindr I never would've met him. So it's not all negative.

I kinda do but it's not like 'being gay' is legal everywhere and/or easy to go to places and find people who are. So I think it depends on the place.
