Sam Smith is nervous to perform infront of Beyonce
The singer has just been asked to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, which means he'll get to appear in front of his idol Beyonce and he is already worried about getting starstruck.
Sam reflected: ''I don't know how I'm going to hold it together. ''If I sing and she's in front of me, I'll just cry.My music is so heavily inspired by her.''
He's also said he doesn't want to meet her because 'I don't want to meet her because I believe that some idols should remain up there. If you meet everyone you're inspired by you'll have no one to look up to.'
That's sweet. It's always an honor performing in front of your idol.

What you feel doesn't matter in this situation. She inspired the pain in his voice that is so palpable to you. Be grateful for Beyoncé and her impact on him!
I'm disputing the fact that his music doesn't sound like Beyonce inspired him..that's all. *sighs*
Artists like Britney have cited people like Madonna and Janet Jackson as their inspiration and when has Britney released an R&B album like janet. or Bedtime Stories?
I forgot how much he loves her.
