“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever (Psalm 136:26).”
There is this incessant gratitude spoken by humanity when things go as planned, or right according their own thinking or expectations. Many people will use the phrase, “Thank Goodness”, whenever something occurs to satisfy them in this particular way. Somehow the thanking of goodness is the immediate response by most. What does this mean to thank “goodness”? Who is goodness? Is this a person, place or thing? Why are we so inclined to thank goodness when we are thankful?
During times of great happiness, or being protected by something terrible, or unexpected, our initial reaction is to give thanks, most of the time. Instead of thanking the One who is truly responsible for all things good and decent, we rather thank goodness, an empty implication of thought.
i never hear anyone say "Thank Goodness". It's always Thank God.
It was just in my other thread, some police officer said "thank goodness we had that armored vehicle". And I thought, that's weird to thank "goodness", so I Googled and found this article.
