It's not like they lied, just bizarre selectiveness. They can list everyone but the one person who stole the show for every year (everyone tries to get attention at the VMAs.)

Gaga really wasn't trying to pull any stunts last year though It wasn't meant to be a big shocking performance...it was just a solid, fun performance.
She even talks about it here on the red carpet before the show. They ask if she's going to push the envelope and she brushes it off, saying "Oh I don't know, its going to be a good time."
