Marry The Night is my favorite song by her, so preach. It's also so perfect as an opener for the album: the opening line is so straight forward, it's like she is going to take you for a magic ride and it slowly gets enveloped by walls and walls of sound, before you go on the roller coaster of a song with her and you get to see her at her most emotional (the bridge) and then the breakdown is the descend, the plunge, into an abyss of madness, insanity, happiness, excitement, rage, that perfectly describes all of what Born This Way (album) is. Perfect.
I totally agree. There's a good reason I became a fan during the Marry The Night era. It's her best song and I don't think she'll ever top it, at least for me. A perfect song.

I love MTN even though some of the lyrics are a little dodgy. I remember the first time I heard the breakdown. Lawd.
I really don't understand the melodrama regarding her current status and future.
People panic and mock her for falling short of her prime, meanwhile she collects decent hits that people like and releases an album that is barely outperformed by those peaking. People carry on about her mainstream success being beyond saving as if all avenues have been tried, meanwhile she gives up on trying much and releases a bloody jazz album instead.
This is not a desperate position, and people have made much bigger comebacks from much tougher positions than this. Lady Gaga is still desirably pop cultural real estate and if she actually plays the game - she'll be fine. People like to hate her, but they do ultimately like her around. They know she's a damn good popstar who shouldn't be given up on - no matter how poorly they show it.
I feel like I always agree with your posts.
"She is flopping/fading but we want her around" seems pretty much the sentiment in a lot of think pieces about her throughout much of the era. She really is too good and talented to just flounder, and deep down I really don't think anyone who loves pop music actually wants that to happen (aside from a certain few). I mean, look at the new crop of pop stars. It's pretty dire.
It's really weird though. There's this consensus that she has hit rock bottom, but the album sold nicely for the current pop market she's in, and her tour is doing well. The main caveat is she's just not doing amazingly and blowing peoples minds, I think.
At the end of the day, we can see that Troy ultimately ruined the ARTPOP era post-November 11. But look at how Bobby has stepped up to the plate and utilized the best promo possible for Cheek to Cheek. He is completely invested in Gaga whereas Troy's mind I feel was elsewhere from August-November. Thank God she got rid of him, I say.
The future is bright guys, I truly believe that.
True. Bobby is doing an amazing job so far. The era so far and until the week of the release is very well-managed and handled.

Because what happened is simple. Gaga had certain projects for the era, Troy said no ma'am and didn't help her execute them, so she fired him. In her eyes, there's nothing wrong she has done because all she had was plans and people around her didn't help her.
On a positive note, am going to get the 'Born This Way - The Remixes' CD soon.

That's her album discog fully, right?
I'll need to get her Remix EP's next.

My favorite moment in MTN is right after the bridge though, the final chorus comes in and the instrumental just STOPS and I raise my hands and clap to Jesus during that godful part!

People in this thread confuse Bobby and Troy way too much, Troy said no and was fired, not Bobby. And sometimes Gaga needs to accept a no, she needs people to tell her no sometimes
"sorry i do not have it in my ipod haha" LIAR, you have demos and voice recordings with you being drunk and all MJH'd hidden in there that could fill the next seven albums and you say that you don't have your finished tracks on your phone. You can't fool us anymore Stefani
ARTPOP is a decent album, as I've always said. The media was out for her the moment her and Katy were releasing at the same time
The media has been out for her since 2012 right after her health issues. They smelled blood and came running. Applause v Roar was just a catalyst for the memetic Gaga hate that was already in full swing (largely due to her close connection to gays/outcasts; it made her an easy target). The Madonna-Copycat drama never really ended it just took on a new life, too.
If her team is smart they'll advise her to try and withstand these things in the new era.
If I ever get to meet her I'm just going to be all speechless and just give her a big portrait of the icon and say "this is how I feel, Stefani" and just leave.

Exactly I mean she had that concept demo for Applause on her iPad/iPhone which leaked
Yet she expects us to believe that she doesn't have a song that she's playing on tour there as well
Every big artist has a revival era. Madonna recovering from Erotica, Mariah with TEOM, Avril with Girlfriend, Cher with Believe.
I ain't worried about Gaga fading into irrelevance forever because it's only natural when there comes a time when the media decides their news will be more interesting if they support Gaga rather than attack her, and then a paradigm shift will come when pop culture thinks theatricality is more in demand than stripped-down All of Me, Happy etc.-esque sings
I just hope queen isn't stubborn enough to reject help at every turn so she can artistically slay again

Basically.
Gaga kind of overpowered the early 2010s so it's natural and normal for a backlash. Apparently she predicted this, too.

nn my bad. I realized after I posted it
But let's see what happened after the "no" was told:
-Venus changed to DWUW:
she only cares about that charts!!!!!!1
where's the Venus video you promised us with!!!!!!!11?
-DWUW video scrapped: non-stop meltdowns from December all the way to July.
-App scrapped: fans telling Gaga to cut her wrists (see the thread earlier)
-No 4th single:
but we want Gypsy!!!!
she's afraid to FLOP that's why she can't release another single!!
-Flying dress scrapped. That infrared or whatever wig scrapped. No new unreleased songs. No new videos. A lot of other things scrapped: her fans are being so ungrateful, disappointed, and whining all the time.
