Radio is blackballing Fifth Harmony‘s fierce self-empowerment anthem “Bo$$” because the girls mention Michelle Obama in the lyrics — at least according to the song’s producer Wallpaper. “Regardless of the positive message some radio stations wont play @FifthHarmony BO$$ cus it has “Michelle Obama” in the lyrics,” he tweeted earlier today (August 20).
That was enough to mobilize outraged Harmonizers, who promptly got the hashtag #dontcensor5H trending worldwide. No stations have been named and shamed (as yet) but “Bo$$” is losing a little momentum at pop radio, so there could be something to it. Which is sad given the song’s inspirational message to get money and take charge of your life. See the hitmaker’s tweet and the best fan responses after the jump.
POP Radio stations have been giving excuses such as: the label wont allow us to play the song and that was already proven wrong so they are just not wanting to play it I hope all those adds they got from urban radio help the song increase.

It's not their "tween" fans who came up with that idea though, it's one of the song's writers that tweeted about it, and that's how it all started.

If you're referring to the BB100 then no they don't have any if you're referring to radio then yes also the majority of their fans are not tweens
the song peaked inside top 10 iTunes, and rising up back to top 50 iTunes despite the lack of promo and radio support clearly people are here for the song Haters gonna hate
That is honestly the dumbest excuse ever... It's not like they're slandering Michelle Obama, they're using her name for female empowerment.... But I can see where the radio stations are coming from. They don't want to risk backlash and risk getting into trouble with the First Lady herself.
I hope all those adds they got from urban radio help the song increase.
