I said this before. She's just asking whatever is in her mind at the moment, she tells each fan something different because she knows that every word she says backstage is going to do the rounds and have "confirmed" status by the monsters
Exactly, especially with the whole "Gaga said she's leaving pop music" meltdown people had a few weeks
What started her decline was the Born This Way era, everything collapsed after the lead single.
This really isn't true imo idg why y'all say this.
Clearly it didn't start a decline in interest of her if Born This Way debuted #1 on Hot 100.
Clearly people still weren't phased by it when Judas & The Edge of Glory went Top 5.
Clearly people still were here for it when the album did 1 million first week.
Clearly people were still here for it when Y&I went Top 10.
Clearly people were still here for it when the tour almost did 200 million.
She really needs to see what happen during that break 'cause she literally somehow lost all her power from it randomly.
What I'm saying is 'an era people aren't here for' doesn't have 4 Top 10's, sell over 6 million copies, and has one of the biggest tours ever.

Breaks can break any pop star, hence why they rarely ever take them. Gaga needed a break, ha hip, but that public blackout was one of their all time worst decisions.
People just weren't here for what Gaga was releasing after DWUW. She waited too long after DWUW to release something and when it was released people just weren't bothered anymore. It has nothing to do with Born This Way. People are gonna by good music, they don't care who it's by. People just weren't here for ARTPOP

I don't even know if that's the issue, when she had a HUGE FANBASE. The biggest fanbase for any Pop Star in the World at one point. 'Cause though Born This Way was successful, a huge part of that was due to her stanbase.
I don't get how so much of her stanbase disappeared. Public blackouts shouldn't take a toll that hard on established fans. Look at Taylor, Beyonce, etc after returning.

Girl....
DWUW was not when the issues started. The downfall appeared clearly the second 'Applause' was uploaded to iTunes.

Taylor and Beyoncé's can't be compared, Lady Gaga was absent from the public right after Marry The Night underperformed. I didn't follow her until this past year and a half but I always thought she broke her hip and went into hiding right after MTN, not two years later. She was literally absent for three years.

This would make sense if Sales = quality, which isn't the case.
There are a lot of things to take into consideration, the first one being radios.
Gaga, by damaging her image with things like the Alejandro video and the whole Dark This Way era, is indirectly responsible for the lack of radio plays she's been getting.
Applause might have done well in the States (payola ?) but she barely got airplays WW.

Taylor is an accurate comparison.
She disappeared from public mostly, her era stopped, and she didn't do anything huge after '22' underperformed.
Still yet, she came back, dropped a single with no prior hype, promotion, or announcements and is looking to debut at #1.
One Direction have literally been so irrelevant since 'Story of My Life' and can come back this year and likely drop a song and still have it skyrocket to #1 on iTunes.
Gaga can't send a song to #1 on iTunes anymore, Gaga can't sell out venues anymore, and she can't make an event for people to talk about. Her fanbase is diminished. She needs to get them back.

All I know is that the GP 100% do not care about Gaga's "image" or her "eras" they could not care less. All they care about is good music (or what they perceive to be good music) I mean Loyal by Chris Brown did incredibly well despite the public despising him. That just shows how little the GP cares about these things. Also Applause may have not sold a lot worldwide but it still is very recognizable and a lot of people I knew really really liked it

The lack of promo also plays a major role. In Europe for example, her last big hit here was TEOG, no wonder that her albums sales were the pits here.
But then you have countries like Japan that also followed the trend and had her album sales go from 750K to 200 something K. I just don't get how the WHOLE WORLD can drop her at the same time.

All of this is completely false tho. Most of her artRAVE dates have been sold out so far. DWUW and all the promo singles went #1 on iTunes. And Gaga gets tons of headlines every day. She even got media coverage for her ****ing ice bucket challenge

Taylor Swift has never hurt her own brand though (actually, she might be right now, but that is a different discussion). Gaga's issue, aside from that, is getting progressively darker and morbid at an alarmingly fast rate, something a good amount of her original fans did not like (and to be fair, you take several years to undergo a transformation like that, not two). And then she wanted to win back the fun and young crowd she lost with BTW with Artpop, but it turned away the fanbase she got from TFM and BTW who wanted something dark and meaningful.
She has several different fanbases under the mask of one, all wanting different things, so she was in a lose/lose situation from the get go. A lot of people jumped ship to Lana (twice: the pretentious crowd to BTD and then the "dark and meaningful" crowd to Ultraviolence. Ironically, she herself is losing fans at an alarming rate too) and the success and fun fans seemed to gravitate toward Katy Perry.
She will never have a successful era again, simply because she's labelled as a "gay singer".
Sure, she's probably gonna have moderate hits like Applause, but that's all. She will never sell as much as before, never will be as powerful as before. Lady no more Gaga.
