That whole discussion was annoying and off topic, but SYG goes off topic sometimes, it happens.

Bringing up someone's tweets is personal though. It's almost a breach of privacy cause Edge doesn't have his twitter linked anywhere in his profile. That's why it was warned.

wow at latch being warned in SYG for "off-topic." how does that even happen in SYG? i use to frequent there a lot and they talk about everything, including bleach jokes. what's even worse is that latch was actually on topic as the current discussion was about racist users. this injustice against the hive has gone too far!!!!!

and i don't see how one post about an unfair point equating to "abuse" and a thread ban

People get warned for off topic all the time in SYG. I'm sure more people could've been warned just now, but we can't read every post in there. He obviously took it very far by bringing up the tweet, and his was one of the few posts reported.

Let me just stop you at "Lady Gaga really is very ugly". And I'll stop you there because that should be warnable - just like saying "Ke$ha really is totally talentless" as if it's a fact and there's no argument should be warned. (

) Worthless blanket statements like that should be warned because they add nothing to a conversation. That statement is a conversation with itself because it's presented like it's factual (therefore requiring no response) when it isn't. The example you used is both trolling and flamebait.

Yeah what's the official word on that? I had a very creepy member lurk through the internet and find my twitter (and who knows what else) and then post it here randomly. He's a mod favorite so maybe him getting away with that had something to do with it idk. Was just wondering.

We look at it case by case. Usually people don't intend any harm so they get away with it.

Latch was unjustly warned for his avatar and for the SYG post, but his multiple response posts (in reference to the avatar and SYG post) were just a bit too graceless in their execution. I feel that his warnings were unfair, but he posted about the unfair avatar warning in particular a little too much.
