Will Katy's total album sales ever surpass Gaga's?
So I just realized that Katy Perry, the Queen of Pop as you people like to call her has so far sold 14.5M albums WW while Lady Gaga has sold 27M albums WW.
Despite the massively successful PRISM era going up against the infamous underperforming ARTPOP era she has so far managed to close the gap by ~1M (might be another million when it's all over).
So, if the trend continues Katy should surpass Gaga's album sales after 5-8 more eras. Do you see that happening sooner? Later? Never?
Not with the way album sales are drastically decreasing every year, but no one cares except stanbases. If she continues to have #1 hits, successful albums, and successful tours, that's all that matters.
The only place where specific numbers matter is on fansites where people use sales as a mean to drag other artists.
