Shania's most recent album went 11x platinum. She never went full-on pop like Taylor is (neither did Faith or LeAnn), she just hasn't made music in a while. And with her sales legacy, if I were her, I would be afraid to put out more music too! If Shania makes a country album next year I think she'd definitely be embraced by the country community. Taylor will never be embraced by them again.
But I think she'll be fine making pop/country hybrid stuff and retaining a large percentage of her base, mostly in people who are around the same age as her and like pop now and will like more AC-leaning pop by the time they're 30.
