Poll: Did Taylor ruin Ariana/Iggy´s chance of being 2014s IT girl?

It seemed like such a sure thing to say with Ariana slaying like that with her songs, and Iggy with her 7-weeks at #1. But then, all of a sudden, Taylor came with such a strong tune that is instantly slaying radio, streaming and sales and seems like she´ll be this year´s IT girl unless someone comes and gets bigger. What do you think? Did Taylor ruin their chances? Will she be the IT girl? Discuss

I was always under the impression that the IT girl had to be new. Taylor isn't new. It's still Ariana/Iggy.

Is SIO really doing that well? And if so, what formats? She may receive huge initial spins but that sound is tired with the huge influx of Pharrell sound alike productions that have been saturating the market. It will die out sooner rather than later.

Let's look at the receipts, shall we:
According to Kworb, Ariana is the #2 global artist, about to have the #1 global song, and has multiple songs charting in the top 10. She's slaying radio with 3 songs, and has a major campaign for her already critically acclaimed album. There is a new HBIC in town, and Taylor will just co-exist

Yes. I consider Taylor kind of new since she's doing a new genre than her previous efforts. She's going out of ha comfort zone and doing a 100% pop album. If Shake it Off goes #1 + her album draws in large numbers, Taylor will definitely be 2014's it girl.

Ariana and Iggy are still higher, but Taylor will probably pass them with her album and second single. Last era, Taylor's lead debuted with over 600k and stalled in the early 3M range, which "Problem" should be able to pass. It'll take Taylor more than one single to surpass Ariana and Iggy.
