Oh I didn't mean it like that. For example having 5 lots per world is actually an improvement in multiple area's, and only negative in one.

Toddlers I agree with, that they should be in the game. Pools I can live without, because I want them to do them properly. In the Sims 3 they cheated with pools and treated them as Swim-able basements, rather than an actual pool. & That became annoying when you'd experience major lag when making/having your Sims swim. Because it was basically a cheated code effort that resulted in less performance.
But not necessarily everything missing, is a negative. I'm really disappointed overall with the base game, because of EA.
However The Sims Studio/Maxis have done extremely well with setting up the foundation for The Sims 4, so that in the future, The Sims 4 will be much better than 3 ever has.
So even though they didn't get enough time to do what they wanted, they cut features in order to make a solid foundation.
But it's obvious that the people who worked on the game, wanted more to be in the game.

Like one of the things that Sims fans have noticed, there were obvious things that were cut that the developers wanted in the game. For example, there are toy cars that when blown up have an incredible amount of detail in them, suggesting they were shrunk versions of the cars they actually wanted in the game.
They also focused on busy roads, which makes no sense if they weren't focused on cars.
They also have community lots in the game that are no longer accessible such as a Car Wash, Fast Food Diner (with Drive Through and Car Park), Grocery Store etc. and they have a lot of detail that obviously they were cut.
& the fact that the development team focused on busy community lots, to then not have any commercial lots is a bit weird.
They also had lots of community lot items such as fast food menu boards, retail objects like stacked clothes, and cafe styled tables. There are also careers based on those lots.
