If you don't need JavaScript, turning it off will make ATRL be pop-up free on your iPhone.

Costs of the server, server maintenance, bandwidth, datacenter, software, can all easily add up to thousands a month. It was just an estimate, but it's a fairly well-informed estimate. You'd be surprised how much it costs to run a popular, high-load website like ATRL.

Hivelocity Datacenter alone already costs many hundreds a month. Just look on their website. It also lists the prices for extra addons/extra support such as DDoS protection. You need to take all that into account as well.

besides, that wasn't even the point I was making. Point is the server costs money and running ads to make some of that money back isn't a rude or uncommon thing to do.

There is simply no way a site like atrl should cost multiple thousands to run every single MONTH. This ain't no NeoGAF.

OK, so I get a warning point because of the immaturity of overzealous stans who felt the need to crudely comment on an honest, and respectfully yet confidently stated, opinion of mine that related to the artist and topic at hand?

I feel like that is what's breeding immaturity on ATRL. My opinion wasn't negative nor a problem in and of itself. I wasn't personally speaking to anyone or even referencing anyone in my statement other than the artist.

It's just one warning point, so I'm not bothered by it. I'm bothered by the logic that deduced that I should be given a warning point for that. Control and monitor the stans, not those who may simply offer a differing opinion on an artist in a 'public thread' outside of the artist's base.

Writing your posts with a more polite tone typically gets more people to listen to what you have to say.

And if you're referring to your sex talk thread, it has apparently been the policy for months to not allow those types of discussions on ATRL. It can suck, especially if you make a thread with good intentions (My poor safe sex thread

), but it's been this way for months now, from what I've been told.

Query for the mods: I was considering making this a thread but since, at the end of the day, it turns into avoiding WPs I thought I should just ask here. At what point should we not have to tag things anymore? Referring to movies, gaming, etc. A year? Longer? Just curious for ethics and points sake.
