I think Bey is more of a blueprint for her performances,being able to cross over, and her work ethic.

Beyonce is definitely a blueprint, but an R&B blueprint?

Destiny's child had more R&B impact than Beyonce the solo artist and they're not the blueprint for R&B.

R and B means rhythm and blues. The parent of R and B is the blues. The music has hard and strong vocals with lots of beat. The blueprint for R and B was made 30 years before Beyoncé was born . The only true example of R and B still alive is Aretha Franklin. She is blueprint all R and B singers including Beyoncé have followed for 50 years. The true R and B singers are now dying due to old age. R and B now a is water down pop/ R and B mixture. Madonna is not the blueprint for pop music. The Beatles are the blue print for Pop music.

I think Mary J is the Blueprint for R&B followed by Sade & Beyonce. They all have been able to do R&B music and have mainstream Success and have been able to achieve longevity which is most important because it allows you to be exposed to newer generations.

Brandy could've been apart of that but she lost her focus in music and her personal life was slowly falling apart.

Aaliyah if she were alive could've been right there with Bey(in influence and fame) as being a blueprint for the newer girls but unfortunately she wasn't alive long enough for anyone to emulate her career.

Alicia Keys had it but lost her footing once women turned their backs on her after the Switzz Beats fiasco.

not necessarily, but she's certainly appropriated the whole "alternative R&B" aesthetic and did a good, pop rendition of it. but she's pretty much the first actual pop star to take that risk and actually make a really good record (i'm talking about the self-titled obviously)
