It was offensive and unnecessary, especially the use of that transphobic term. Not very online kindness of you!

THANK YOU. All these Britney haters need to BE QUIET. We see RIGHT through you.
Anyway, I agree, ezra.jones needs to be perma banned. All he does is complain about trolls when he trolls himself. I mean, isn't he a dupe acc? That alone should say something.

Funny coming from you. Aren't you the one constantly bashing Nicole personally in SYG? Hm. Thanks for the advice though I appreciate it

I warn for transphobia universally. Other mods' interpretations of what constitutes transphobia may create a discrepancy but such is the case with all rules.

In vbulletin sure, but it causes the guest thing to happen. That's why most online forums just ban you permanently instead of deleting. It looks awry when a user's posts just turn into guest everywhere too. I believe in PHPBB and bbPress it turns it to "Anonymous" or something.

Umm, this. When I called Gaga "it" (in the post I was viciously attacked for, thinking of contacting my attorney) her gender identity honestly did not cross my mind.

Anyway, why #justice4cookies? He's been throwing personal insults at the Army for 2 days now. I could've got him banned yesterday for the number of insults he threw at me.

If you want to be technical, using "it" and gender identity in general as an insult is transphobic because it turns being non-binary and/or non-cisgender into something perceived as bad or lesser.

You have to understand where the insult of "it" is derived from. I mean, you have a point in that many times gender identity is not a part of the equation and "it" is sometimes used in reference to the object being simply subhuman in a general sense, but that's not always the case and it's very difficult for us to warn for intent as opposed to warning at face value.

That's so true! Great point.
I'll think twice before I use that now.

I'm assuming the mods though I was being abrasive towards teachers or Waffles O'Brien? I don't see how I was being abrasive because I didn't insult anyone. I said that one has to go to college to become a teacher (which is obviously not abrasive), that unfortunately, they are not paid as much, and unfortunately that is why people don't think it's a respectable job often times. I never said I agreed with them, I was going by what many people in my country think (which I said was unfortunate). And I said it's often easier to become a teacher than become a doctor, but then I said maybe Waffles O'Brien could enlighten us and say that the common perceptions of its easiness is wrong, since he has first-hand experience becoming one.
I even said do people just think that teaching is easy without any basis. ("Do people just think so"), and that or maybe you believe it is a respectable job.
I don't understand how it was abrasive towards teachers or Waffles O'Brien?

Personally, I found that the context it was used in was more dehumanizing, and had nothing to do with the trans community or gender identity.
I see what you mean, but that is def not what my dearest Giselle meant by it.

Ffffff
This tbh.
Anyway, calling someone "it" denotes a sense that the subject has a questionable gender and Gaga is obviously female so making a mockery of people who ACTUALLY ARE transgender for a corny and overdone Gaga jab is kind of like, totally the definition of transphobia but whatev.

Which is what my second post is for; I know very well Giselle may not have meant that at all, but it's how it comes across that is often the most important aspect of a post, in my opinion. For example, I can't really get into a person's head and life and imagine what they meant to convey when they used a particular phrase or insult - what I can do is analyze only what was actually conveyed. In a case like this, I'm aware it can be two things, but which of those things is meant is relatively difficult to discern without prior knowledge of various factors.
