Why do people care that some people bleach their skin? Shouldn't people just let people do whatever they want with their body? Why do people like Beyonce have to be criticized just because she bleaches her skin? Why can't people consider it like bleaching or dying hair, which no one criticizes? Or how light skinned people want to get tan? It's their body so they should do what they want as long as it doesn't bother other people.

I know some people might say it's because it means the black people who bleach their skin are self-hating / hating their race, but what if they aren't doing it because they don't like their race, but because they just want lighter skin, just as how some people want tan skin?

Well back in the days, lighter blacks got treated better. In some circumstances, they worked inside, while the dark skinned would work in the fields. The whites believed 'the closer to white, the closer to right' and that shouldn't be affecting us to this day.
