Nope, I live here and I can confirm this stuff happens all the time.
And there's strange rumbling coming from the sky that lasts like 10-20 seconds, it can make windows shake, it's definitely not jets or explosions. No one can figure out what it is, some people say it's the earth moaning in preparation for a huge earthquake, others say military testing, the local news did a report on it one time...
Don't say it doesn't exist because I hear it all the time and so does everyone else, it's a very loud, low, deep rumbling that makes things on shelves shake, sometimes you can hear plates going "clink, clink, clinkclinkclinkclink".
