The Twitter for iPhone app has two magical features, commonly known as "tabs", called "Discover" and "Activity" which you can get to by swiping left when you're on the "Home" tab. When you're on the "Discover" tab, you can see tweets from random people based on your name / username / the people who are followed by the people you follow. The "Activity" tab allows you to see what the people you follow have favorited / retweeted. For celebrities or any other verified account, it goes further than that, as they can easily see what anybody says about them. Twitter did that so as to keep them interested in using Twitter.
