I'm forever keeping hope that one day Gaga will slay heaven and earth again, her start/peak were huge, only this era did quite bad. Even though BTW did a lot less than TF+M it was still amazing and the number of artists that seemed to fade/flop and made a huge comeback years later is quite big
What's with all the thirsty Twitter monsters lately writing random descriptions of ARTPOP and Gaga retweeting them all then responding to them "Yes, this is why I created ARTPOP. This is the true definition of the reverse warholian experience of the deep inner interaction inside ARTPOP's body".
I don't think these monsters (or Gaga herself) even understand what they wrote.
I was watching Gaga's MTN interview with VEVO and she just kept talking about what everything meant and it made no sense, and I'm sure she was talking out of her ass.

Let's not do too much on anything Marry the Night related now.
It's good. I'm glad I avoided the hype, because its beauty is in how ordinary the story is. It's extraordinary in approach...and pretty surreal, really. Watching someone grow before your eyes and relating to the guy whilst it happens.
(****, forgot that Harry Potter was the other major pop cultural screen time.)

I agree with DWUW. The mess ruined a chance at a big hit. People love that song already and it barely took off.
I was just thinking whilst listening to ARTPOP that if THIS is her output when she's "off", then ****. She's talented. I mean, Venus is messy because it's underdeveloped but it still has stellar hooks. Applause is great and Gypsy is not far behind. I can't wait until she's back "on" it.
more like this is her output when she does everything herself
it is only when she takes criticism and jointly collaborates with other talented people (in terms of videos, performances, fashion, AND music) she will be back "on"
To think that Do What U Want peaked at 13 with no music video, messy performances, several people running smear campaigns against her, and her disappearing midway through its era. It wasn't destined to smash (one performance alone would have done that) but it did really ****ing good all things considered. We should feel lucky considering how much was against her (and us) at the time.
BTW era must have been such an amazing time to be a Stan. A new performance like every two days, and they had such high budgets and production values.
I wouldn't even be surprised if media picked up Gaga's situation in Australia, I mean they would never be interested if it was another artist, but this is Gaga we're talking about so...

It was. And it was my whole live. I am so grateful, for what she has given us the past 6 years. I mean, with all the complaining we sometimes forget what she has done and accomplished so far. She is only on her 4th album. And look at her achievements in the past 6 years.

I'm not gonna lie, the beginning of the era and the months leading up to it were absolutely golden and perhaps my favorite time to be a fan. Everyone was anticipating Born This Way, even if they didn't really want to. She would breath and articles would be written on how outlandish the breath was. Everyone wanted to know her next move. She literally had the entire world in the palm of her hands.
Every day, I find a new Born This Way performance and I'm like "!!!" and just wish I could have been around when that was going on.
I only just found her You and I performances a couple of weeks ago, and those were her best collective performances.
Check here if you want to see all the performances from the Born This Way era, and here if you want a more detailed list of all the promo done. (Including performances, interviews, magazine covers, etc.) Both are fairly comprehensive.
She should've drawn out "Born This Way" (the song) until the album release. I mean, by the time the album came out, the GP was digesting like 3-4 songs ("Born This Way", "Judas", "The Edge Of Glory", and "You & I"/"Hair") . Focus on making "Born This Way" even bigger, and then once the album came out, switch to "Judas" mode.

the song and music video and EVERY live performance for MTN is absolutely perfect. the Marry The Night single era remains untouched and collectively shat on anything from the ARTPOP era

Ya I have no idea why labels do this sometimes. I didn't just happen with Born This Way and Judas: You Da One and Unconditionally suffered the same fate at the hands of We Found Love and Roar, respectfully. I suppose they think it's smart to put out a new song to capitalize on the success of the current smash while it's smashing, and I do see the logic there, but as proven by these three cases, often times, the current smash just eats up any chance a new single has. I just would not risk it. Plus, releasing a new song so early eats up at the last bit of strength the current smash has. It's like they end up killing each other.
