Ashanti opened up how she’s experienced being racially profiled while shopping in New York City.
“You know what’s the worst thing? If I have a hat on and sweats or glasses and I’m chillin and I go into a store, you may get someone follows and says, ‘oh may I help you?’ When they find out [who I am], they say, ‘oh that’s Ashanti, that’s Ashanti, oh my gosh how are you? Would you like some champagne? How may we help you?’”
I can't stand when people follow you around after you've told them you're good. I had to go off on a bitch for profiling me before at flop ass JCPenney's. I told her, "I have 2 degrees and am contributing member of society. You're going all out of the way to see if I'm stealing and JCP doesn't care if you drop dead. Get TF back." Such a shame in 2014.

"May i help you" doesn't always mean you're being racially profiled, sometimes it means "May i help you?". I'm black myself, but alot of you black people on here do tha most. And even if they ask can they help you cause they think you're up to some bs, so what. Pay it and keep it moving, if you know what you came in tha store to do then don't worry about it. Tha way i look at it is, i get paid 4x as much as you so don't try me
