Dawn gets the most parts on theh records, I ain't mad at the other two for trying to get more parts. And it's the producers decision if they want to change vocals on the song. And the writers, if Shannon wrote a part on a song that Dawn sang and decided she wanted to sing it after, I don't blame her. Settle it like humans.
It's also not helping the situation if Dawn is basically calling the other girls insecure about their vocals. She's playing the victim.

I'm done with DK, and this is from a loyal fan. If we can't get the music, **** outta my face.

But even Aubrey has admitted to this herself in MTB season 1. So, that is in fact why I think this is somewhat true.
And I also remember Dawn (or Aubrey) posting an Instagram vid of Dawn coaching Aubrey how to sing her note on one of their slow songs. So, I see no lies there either. Why would she coach them on how to get vocally better on a song...but not want them to shine?

On that same Instagram (not posted here)....Dawn said "stay tuned for that tea". So, I guess they working out if they'll be required to release an album for the label.
My guess is that they (the label) will wipe their hands clean of this, let them out of the contract...and give those songs to another group.

The animosity between them would have just kept building until something even worse happened if they tried to continue working together after this incident. Whatever label they were signed to should just count their losses and release the album digitally to try to recoup some of the losses and call it a day.

Not really...b/c if this is mostly what they were fighting over...they would have gotten over it. The album would have been released, they would have toured...and called it quits then. What was going on wasn't THAT deep...nothing that most groups haven't dealt with.
BTW, also on that Instagram Dawn said that she's tried to apologize. But she will NOT be calling Aubrey again to get the group together. She said Aub leaked the story to TMZ, and posted their "3 page letters" ( ) on Dawn's birthday to say "she ain't ****"....she said she done w/ it. That birthday **** cut too deep...and she know she did that on purpose (re: timing).

yeah dawn is the last person I would listen to, followed closely by Aubrey. Hopefully Shannon will speak up.

I don't believe Shannon was a part in any mess but I also don't care anymore. We aren't getting an alber, so all three or four or five of them can disappear for all I care.

Rightfully so. The girls should also be held accountable for any money the label spent on their unreleased efforts, un-launched campaigns. But time will tell.

That doesn't make sense. I find it hard to believe that a label will just let them walk without fulfilling their contractual obligations. If their label were to release something then they'd at least be closer to breaking even than they are now by not releasing the music.

Obviously there was a lot that led up to this. It makes sense now why Aundrea was so quick to get out. Sure, they may have been able to move past this incident, but the underlying issues would still be there. These girls obviously don't trust each other, and there is no way that they could have survived as a group for long without that trust being there.

@ Shyboy...Not if they give those songs to another artist/group that can actually promote the song.
DK has been gone for YEARS radio is not just going to pick up their track, and make it a Billboard hit. They need promotion. Whereas, if the label gave it to a group that's actually willing to work together lol...they would actually see a bit more of a profit.

They could have survived enough to get the album out.
Yall have no idea the **** that goes on behind-the-scenes in the industry...a shitload of things get swept under the rug. They could have lasted long enough to put this ONE album out.
And really it was stupid of them NOT to work together after the incident. They ALL going to lose out on money. And nobody's gonna want to **** w/ Aubrey, Shannon, or Dawn on their solo careers...producers, labels, writers, etc.
I go to work EVERY day...and work w/ people I don't like. B/c at the end of the day...my lights need to be on, and I need food on the table. Work is not always about liking someone...lol. I said before that SWV + TLC put out several albums when they couldn't even get along. Its not new.

^^^ But at the end of the day YOU arent Aubrey, Dawn, or Shannon. So their decisions are based off how THEY felt person. They felt that they needed to get tf outta dodge so thats the best decision THEY made for themselves. Especially seeing how NONE of us know exactly what happened in that group, no amount of speculation will ever give us the full complete story. I mean for 10 years there were issues, we dont know what lead up to disbandment, Dawn throwing blows etc etc.
They decided to break up instead of "dealing with it" for a reason. No music, oh well.

True. I just don't think what we've heard warranted them letting go of the whole thing. They all needed it. They probably going to feel this one for years, actually. But I guess we'll never know all the details....

I completely agree with you, and they probably could have talked their issues out and swept it under the rug and released the album, but all bets were off when Dawn physically attacked Aubrey. Words are one thing, but getting violent with someone is a different thing entirely. Even with regular jobs, it is unacceptable for one employee to physically attack another employee, regardless of whether he or she was provoked or not. Dawn would have been fired on the spot for what she did to Aubrey. I'm sure if one of those people you dislike at your job punched you in the head, you would not want to work with that person again and expect your boss to fire him or her.

Actually, if this happened at work...we would have had a mediator (HR = equivalent for them is a group manager lol)...and none of this would have happened in the first place.
What Aubrey/Shannon did was trying to push someone out of their job...and not allowing them to fulfill their contractual obligation, which is ALSO illegal in workplace (wrongful termination via breach of good faith or fair dealing). If we want to be technical.
As I've said before, both parties were wrong...and two wrongs don't make a right. But for the sake of fans (and their own pockets) it could/should have been swept under the rug.

I agree that both sides are wrong and that they lost a lot of money and disappointed a lot of fans, but I just honestly don't see how they would have been able to make it work when they were literally at the point where they were throwing punches. And obviously Dawn had a feeling that something like this was going happen all along, or she would not have been working on solo material while they were all supposed to be dedicated to the group. You can only fake it for so long.

Dawn had always openly worked on songwriting/demos (for DK and solo) while being in DK, and even tweeted about it several times. I would have to assumed the other girls were OK w/ that. She tweeted about it EARLY on in the reunion (when she went to Greece).
I thought their pact was more so about not releasing solo material? Which she didn't do, right? Because I don't necessarily see how recording solo material could hurt the group as a whole. Because afterall Blackheart was already done anyways...she didn't really need to record anything if she was making a Plan B.
True, maybe Shannon and Aubrey were recording their own demos for other stuff...who knows...but it SOUNDS like Dawn knew it was re-recorded DK stuff. Maybe when she walked in the studio she heard it?? I don't know.

Victim blaming? Dawn girl. YOU were the catalyst to this mess. I cannot BELIEVE she has the audacity to write "It's sad that we didn't know that if one shine we all shined. That's why groups don't last. That's the real" like punching someone and getting physical wasn't the real reason the group didn't last. No, it was Shannon and Aubs being jealous?
Nuh uh
