A drunk man was harassing and attempting to fight protestors and accosted a passerby. When the passerby defended himself Blart stepped in with the mace.
Smh. Ain't this bout a bitch.... Even after everyone was telling the rent-a-cop he had the wrong guy, he still proceeded to place him in handcuffs. He could've at least had the decency to let the man wash his eyes out.

I thought these mall cops had no authority but apparently it's about the same as if the mall was their own house, they can just make up rules on the spot or kick you out for nothing.
Cop was too proud to admit he was in the wrong for accusing the black guy so arrested him anyway. I'm disgusted by his actions. Good on the people for sticking up for him though but it was completely unfair for him to be treated as a criminal and left in pain from the mace although everyone kept telling the cop it wasn't him. All the cop had to do was apologize and let him go

Definitely. The mall is completely liable for the security guard's actions. If he decides to sue, he'll win, and it'll probably be quite a large amount of money.
Stuff like this makes my blood boil. And I always feel like I would know what to say in this situation. When that fat cop kept saying "just let him do his job" it annoyed me that no one said "that's the problem though, he's not doing his job!"
And it annoyed me that no one properly described the situation to the surrounding cops. They just kept screaming "he didn't do anything wrong! He didn't do anything wrong!" Someone should have said "look, this old, shirtless, white man was blind drunk and trying to start fights with people on the street, including women. He ran up to this black man and assaulted him by tripping him over. He turned around to defend himself and was telling the guy to put his shirt on and go home, when this mall cop came up and pepper sprayed him. You need to stop for a second, look around and realise that everyone is filming you for an unlawful arrest and you're about to go viral worldwide for being a racist law officer. You're about to lose your job so just stop for a second and look at what's going on."
Oh well. It's all on video and it's going viral. They'll get their karma.
Cops in America are way too prideful and racist to do their job right and this is the perfect example of it. He didn't want to admit he was wrong and the guy being black just made the situation worse. I bet if this was a white man he would've stopped and had the guy explain himself before arresting him. That is also why he went straight for the black guy with the backpack instead of the white shirtless guy acting a fool. We should just execute all the white cops in America and start fresh.
