I love the track, but I've seen people say the production is basic and lyrics are corny. I don't hear either.

The beat is trash and the chorus is cheesy. I love the verses and the meaning of the song though.
Dear Old Nicki is one of the most self indulgent tracks she's ever done. It was basically giving us unecessary excuses as to why she became mainstream. I hate it.

But I dont even think Dear Old Nicki makes sense subject wise for Pink Friday. It woulda made more sense if it was on PF:RR. Because the most "change" happened during that era I think.
