The thing is with the Police here is that almost all of them are dirty and the few that aren't, are trying to hit a quota.

Did you see that interview with that ex-cop on WSHH where he talked about that?

I sure have, have you? Because for you to sit up here and act like all of this is a response to looters leads me to believe you haven't. Stop acting like this is all on the citizens because that is what you're doing, whether you recognize it or not. Sure - they brought the tanks in because of looters. But right now, at this point in time they are destroying and rampaging through residential areas. At this point it's not about looters. They are gassing and shooting rubber bullets at peaceful protesters. If you have cop friends that's GREAT. Defend them all you want but open your eyes.

Sis,
I agree with the peaceful protesters. There was not a single damn thing done to stop them before the shooting happened. Once that happened, all they did was bring in the dogs. I've been very clear to separate the looters and the protesters in all of my posts; I'm not sure how clear I can make it. That being said, I have nothing but negative feelings for the looters after they stomped other people, reportedly shot a protester in the face (who was a young black girl), etc. We're hiding out here because they started breaking in to houses; why would I be online posting positive things about them?
Let me be clear one more time: I'm taking the side of the cops against the
looters. That is what almost all of my posts for the past couple of days have been about. I have nothing but respect for the people out there
protesting. I think they're heroes for what they're doing.
And why would I not get offended and "defend" some people that I personally know when some random troll on the Internet wishes death on them for the sake of a generalization?

The looters aren't any better, I totally agree. I sympathize with you very much on that part. It reminds me of the G20 riot that happened here a couple of years ago. And I agree, there is good and bad everywhere. Though my outlook on American police in general still remains in a negative essence.

LA and NY are the big corrupt areas. The major problem in STL is that cops refuse to enter "hoods" where the businesses end and only protect the wealthier white neighborhoods here. They just started patrolling certain areas (from places that are just average houses all the way up to Section 8 housing) and they only have two "Nuisance Abatement Vehicles" that they generally just leave parked and film with.

We have our issues, but it's generally that the cops ignore our black communities. We won't even let buses in to parts of St. Louis that are overwhelmingly black because "it wouldn't generate enough revenue."
