Grandmother's obituary starts 'Ding dong the witch is dead!'
Ding dong the witch is dead! Grandmother's obituary starts in a most unusual way
Special request: Johanna's daughter, who wrote the obituary, soon revealed that it was a nod to her mother's love of the Wizard of Oz film
Quote:
A Delaware grandmother's obituary that begins shockingly with the line 'Ding dong, the witch is dead,' isn't nearly the attack it seems.
Johanna Scarpitti's daughter Sue Lucy says it's actually more of an ode.
In fact, it was Scarpitti who asked her to put it there.
Turns out, the doting grandmother and her daughter were huge Wizard of Oz fans.
She liked the movie so much, in fact, that Scarpitti, who was 70 and suffered from COPD, was buried in ruby slipper.
Ode: While the opening line likely shocked many, the rest of the obituary was a loving ode

Nothing wrong with that if the mother liked the movie.

Serving me my own mother realness. When I was a child my mother told me that when she did she was going to hell to kill Satan and take his throne. She also said that people were going to celebrate her death because she was such a bitch.
Slay, Johanna! You lived a good life.
