This is such a stupid mindset. I'll be as quick as I can right now cause this' been bothering me for a while.
We get sad when we create any sort of emotional connection to anything and then we lose it. As harsh as it may sound we don't have a strong emotional connection to those people in Palestina/Africa etc. Robin Williams was a huge part of so many people's childhoods on this site. He was televised and whether you admit it or not it created a connection.
Why do so many of us stan for popstars? Why do we get upset if they're not doing okay? Why aren't you doing something much more productive with your life like helping those children in africa instead of being on a pop culture oriented forum discussing your fave's latest efforts? Because you care about your fave more than you do about those who're not a part of your life on a daily basis....
People are allowed to grieve for whomever they want. Stop being pricks.
