“They were nervous about handing 60 minutes of live TV to her, because she’s been unpredictable,” a network insider tells Confidenti@l. “They are now discussing taping the last show in case it needs editing.”
“Kim Kardashian and her sisters can take the joke, or act like they do anyway. However, Ryan Seacrest isn’t known for taking a joke about himself well,” says our source. “Plus, Chelsea hates Joan Rivers and can also attack other reality stars on the network, since she’s cultivating a more serious attitude now. All these things were being considered.”
Handler certainly hasn’t been shy about sharing her feelings about E!, telling Howard Stern in March that the network is a “sad, sad place to live.”
“It would have to be a message to Chelsea (if they taped the final episode), some final control, but in the end they want her to do her thing,” says our source.
The final episode likely will be ratings gold for the cable network, which is facing a massive hit in losing the only female host in male-dominated late-night TV.
Despite the risks, a rep for the E! network assures us “Chelsea’s last show will be live.”
She already said she is ending that show cause of the Kardashians & Bieber. So she will bash them.
E! knows this, but doesnt care. She will have like the highest ratings.
