TIME “All About You,” which debuted Monday, is in the same twangy, folk-pop vein as the singer’s first single, but it’s a huge improvement: while “Chasing the Sun” was sweet but ultimately underwhelmed, “All About You” packs the kind of rowdy punch required to get a comeback really cooking.
Taylor Swift comparisons are inevitable, sure — but while T-Swizzle is off gallivanting with Max Martin or testing out dubstep, Duff’s nod to her Texan roots is attention-grabbing and effortless. The world should have heard this one first. http://time.com/3103511/hilary-duff-...ut-you-listen/
Music Times Whereas the instrumentation goes one way, Duff's voice wanders into its own territory, playing against the music and making an irresistible combination.
Pop Crush We’re loving the slightly twang-y vibe of the song, which is filled with the infectious plucking of acoustic guitars and Duff’s sweet vocals. The folk-rock tone adds a rich depth and maturity to Duff’s sound — a maturity, in fact, that is only enhanced by the slightly provocative lyrics.
We’re totally digging Hilary Duff’s more mature sound and can’t get enough of the more rock n’ roll-type vibe of ‘All About You’. While ‘Chasing the Sun’ was cute and catchy, we’re more eager to see this edgier side of Duff, and we’re glad she’s showing it in ‘All About You’. http://popcrush.com/hilary-duff-all-about-you-listen/
Billboard Whereas "Chasing The Sun" drew inspiration from the breezy pop-rock of co-writer Colbie Caillat, "All About You" is a no-nonsense pop tour de force courtesy of Savan Kotecha, Carl Falk and Kristian Lundin. The folk undertones, handclaps, shout-along chorus and deliriously enjoyable melodies all make this the winning comeback bid that Duff fans were hoping to hear when she announced her return to music. http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...ce=twitterfeed
Seventeen Her super-catchy new track is the perfect acoustic pop-rock anthem you've been hoping for since she announced her new album.
The new single gives us a little Taylor Swift meets The Lumineers meets old-school Hilary vibes, which can only mean one thing: It's P-E-R-F-E-C-T. It's just the kind of song to remind you why you loved Hil's Metamorphosis anthems and have been counting down her musical return ever since. http://www.seventeen.com/entertainme...-all-about-you
Empty Lighthouse The new song, "All About You" is simple enough and catchy and has a Taylor Swift vibe to it. With a folk style guitar backing and a slapping snare and bass track it is sure to get stuck right in the your head whether you like it or not. http://emptylighthouse.com/hilary-du...-you-597647820
