Hilary Duff is returning to TV, signing a deal with NBC to star in a new series, reports Variety.

Under terms of the one-year talent and development deal, the network will develop a show starring Duff; the actress will also be tapped to guest star in various current NBC shows.

The Duff series would be produced by Universal Media Studios. The deal was announced by NBC Entertainment/ Universal Media Studios co-chairman Ben Silverman.

Duff will meet with writers and comb through NBC's development for the right project to star in.


Hopefully she picks a good role and more adult than what people know her for (Lizzie McGuire).

i think this is a great opportunity for her to get herself back out there on TV.... Lizzie McGuire was one of her most known roles, and i think a lot of people recognize her from that show & from her music, not so much her newer movies though. i think it will be a great chance for her to demonstrate her transformation from child star into adult.

This is a really good thing. It'll help put her back in the spotlight, which in turn will help with the next album! I miss Lizzie McGuire, though. I catch it when I can on WGN.

^ they released like the first 20 some episodes of LIzzie McGuire on DVD like 4 or 5 years ago, but never released the rest

I know. Disney stopped releasing season DVDs because the sales of that were horrible, while their 5 episode DVD was selling great. Well DUH! You're promoting the 5 episode DVDs like hell on your tv station and did nothing for the LM season DVD. Let's see... promotion = success. Well, they are related to Hollywood Records.
