Of course Beyoncé deserves it more at the moment, she has been around for longer. (and released a visual album in December)
Gaga will get hers due in time, we all know that.

If I'm honest, Beyonce should get it. She's been around for so long and she's had to give up so much at an early age to get where she is now.
I hope Gaga will get one in due time tho but let her have at least 5 albums.

Rihanna's videos are overall pretty good, but none really stick out and they merely fit into the music video climate without.

Katy's videos are sometimes iconic (California Gurls) by using already iconic imagery but are in itself cookie-cutter concepts made more colourful and more cartoony.

Christina's videos had been quite good and did push the envelope of the music video medium a bit in the Stripped era, but her more recent videos have been as generic as her early ones.

None of these suggest a Vanguard.

I don't understand why ya'll seem to be so comfortable or maybe just forgetful that Justin Timberlake won the damn award last yet none of his videos are really that ~*iCoNiC*~ or special, matter of fact Bey's videography ***** on JT's.. as well as Gaga's, Rihanna's, KP's and every other pop star who hasn't received the award yet. When Beyoncé no longer ***** on them with her videography, they'll receive the award. Until then, log off and go make peace with the fact that Beyoncé is getting the award. Some of ya'll seem so constantly pressed, like my God

And why are people pretending to forget the mammoth move she did by releasing 17 music videos all at once at midnight? Who else has done anything so big and bold in music videos in the last 5, 10, 15 or even 20 years?

Cause if we wanna be really real, this is probably the EXACT reason she's getting the award: for doing something innovative, creative, and unprecedented with music videos. Wake me up when Gaga and her poor planning skills can manage to pull off a visual album (even tho she definitely said every song off ARTPOP would have a video at the start of the era )

Beyonce, obviously. The "visual" album kinda sealed it.

Out of the new(er) girls, it'll be Rih or Gaga to get it..but it should be a very long time for this type of award.

Agreed. While she has great videos and some iconic ones, her vidoegraphy was never really Vanguard-y as a whole, despite indeed starting some trends. And even though Beyonce has been putting emphasis on music videos since her second album with the video anthology and her third and fourth also got an abundance of videos, the Visual Album is what really has made this happen for her.
