Celeb News: Cher Lloyd flops; to be dropped from label?

X Factor’s Cher Lloyd career may be up after her latest album flopped. The former X Factor finalist enjoyed a fairly successful debut era, like many acts from the show. But again like many before her, she struggled to get over the second album slump.

Delays and a focus on America saw Cher’s album make it into just the Top 30 of last week’s chart in UK and it’s already out of the top 100 (selling less than 5,000 copies in total while her debut album sold over 55,000 copies in its first week).

A source told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper today: “It’s no secret how disappointed the label are with the poor performance. Cher’s lead single flopped too and if she’s not making money for the label it makes no sense to keep her.”

It's her management's fault though. They have no ****ing clue how to market her. That Swagger Jagger BS she rocked for her first album just reinforced the bratty image she'd built for herself on X Factor and turned the British public against her, then when they tried to reinvent her image with her second album and Sirens I don't think many people were convinced.

It's a shame because as much as I dislike her she's actually pretty talented.

She was only being promoted in the US and as far as I'm aware, I never heard of anything released in the UK. It's a shame because Sirens is really good.

She could've had a BIG career in the UK. In all of Europe... but she thought it would be THAt easy to smash in America... and with her diva attitude. I LOVE her, but she should've stuck with SyCo.

I love her but part of this is her fault. Abandoning the UK like she did no good to her career there. But the label shouldn't be complaining the by hardly did anything to promote the good sis and delayed the album for months

I hope she gets back on track soon. I always loved her and supported her since her XF audition.

SIL is honestly exactly what a pop record should be, it's not perfect and it's got both happy and sad songs. It could have done well and I don't get why they didn't promote it.

Swagger Jagger completely messed up her image/career in the UK there was no going back from that hence why she went to the US. Of course she flopped in the UK she has no presence and no one knows about her music
