There’s long history of celebrity fashion lines failing, but RiRi’s certainly not new to the apparel and fragrance game. Anyone who's paying attention beyond her music and (intentional) wardrobe malfunctions knows she’s slowly been releasing a host of products branded with her name and likeness. Rihanna's collection for London-based brand River Island brought a huge amount of attention to the brand, and she currently has a makeup line with MAC. Most recently, the singer and her "Monster Tour" partner Eminem announced that they're collaborating with Trapstar for the tour's merch. And Rihanna’s fragrance line, which previously offered only perfume, recently expanded to a scent just for the guys with Rogue Man. Her fashion resume makes her qualified to pull off this coup.

Rih always said she wanted to start her own brand. She definitely has a great amount of influence over the fashion industry right now so with proper planning it could be a major success. I hope she does it
Rihanna is the perfect pop star to successfully launch over into the fashion industry.
The last 9 years has been a great marketing tool of a girl morphing into a woman and finding her style.
We rarely see that happen and she is the undisputed fashion icon of the current generation.
Whether you are in low income, mid income or upper class you see wannabes trying to emulate her style and at best serving B+ status.
She really needs to do this. Fashion is boring now and she could take things to the next level in the commercial sense.
If true, then I'm excited as she should be able to pull it off quite well.
