It makes it look like all Americans love some drama.

So Europeans are the ones who keep MTV going. I was wondering because none of my friends even knew that thing existed anymore.

They're backwards when they think they're forwards (ignorance & obesity, gun laws, no public health care - like seriously?).

They have to butcher everything that the Motherland (England) gave them because 'Murica. (Metric system, words that use "u").

They're undeservedly and excessively patriotic towards America - they think it's the best country in the world when that title goes to England. Obviously.

But there's some really good people who try to educate the masses about the world and I admire them a lot. Whether we're talking Neil DeGrasse Tyson or Noam Chomsky. The US has some great minds, great artists and great scientists.

Oh and y'all have swimming pools in your backyards.... that's amazing.

I think taken as a whole (excluding certain extreme left wing states) they have the best, most progressive gun laws in the world and the most ardent upholding of their citizens' gun rights and I think other countries should look to that as an example.

I'm American and agree with most of the criticisms here except the racism one. The US still has a long way to go in terms of race but Europe seems way more racist. Like you'd never see the kind of unabashed discrimination most EU countries have against Romani people, the recent anti-Semitic protests in major cities, Zwarte Piet, the insults against Cecile Kyenge, the use of "paki", etc. Of course that's not speaking for everyone , but it seems more socially acceptable to be discriminatory in Europe, from my impression.

Some of you are so incredibly ignorant and truly know nothing about America.
I'm happy my parents who were non-Americans like many of you, weren't ignorant and decided to take my brother and I here.
America may have its problems, but it may be the only country on Earth where a man and a woman with no money to their name can raise a family and have their children attend the top high schools and universities of the nation.
We're obviously not a perfect country, but we're no where near as awful as some of you think we are. Y'all really make me wonder what is said in your country's to make you think all of this.
Meanwhile however, you can continue using this American website to praise these American artists whose products you buy contribute towards American business.

I'm from Sydney, Australia and just returned from the US after visiting LA, Vegas and NYC.

With movies/shows USA seems glamorous, it certainly wasn't like it when i saw it but still has its pros. It's just like anywhere really, both have pros and cons. I loved NYC mostly, but LA had good things here and there while Vegas gets boring after the 4th day.

I would say it's much more rough and tough in the US, then say here.
