I can generally smell a computer science major from a mile away. Superpower is currently up for one, and Surfboardt (Beyhive) and I are both graduate software engineers, so we have our random coding battles in the Beyoncé base.

Why do you love Python so much?

I like it because it is cross platform and powerful for many reasons, similar in the way C++ is.
But I find the fact that spacing matters so much ANNOYING. Like omg.

I heard about swift, but while I'm really quick to pick up new technologies, i think I'm gonna pass. If anything, I'll be look at Google's Dart. As a developer, I don't find for Apple in the software arena to be great. But they have still managed to dupe more people into paying for things than any other company. Facebook had the most potential for Developer dough (It was SO easy to make money off of apps for facebook back in like 2011.) but they ****ed it up.

I'm a big proponent of Cordova/Phonegap. The truth is, everything is moving towards the always on/web paradigm and Phonegap supports that. This is why the tutorial I do here will surround that.

It is honestly so pointless in today's world.

even in Robotics It's unnecessary. Nowadays we have things like Arduino, which has literally taken the robotics world by storm. We no longer have to use assembly language for it. We can use C based languages to program robots.



I will dive into it eventually, but honestly, i'm so obsessed with arduino micro controllers lately i don't find it necessary.

I feel like I can leave that to the old school engineers.

This is sooo cool! I had this class in college where we programmed micro controllers and store our code in an EPROM which had to be exposed to like blue light or some crap if we needed to make changes to the code. I thought it was the coolest thing but it seems so archaic now

I'm actually really interested in learning more Assembly... I currently learn NASM, but I need to refresh my mind. I can't emphasize how important it is for Reverse Engineering. I need to ask you a thing or two about EBP and ESP though. But for software engineering, gtfo...

And currently, I'm learning Windows API.. So tough to start a programming language you have no background in, like finding a needle in a haystack.

I'm looking for a good Win32 tutorial.

As well as XAML/C# for app development in Windows/Windows Phone, OR Javascript/HTML for Android app development

I'm declared as a CS concentrator but idk Ideally I wish I was a photography concentrator, but I didn't think to go to art school till now So I'll probably declare just plain old visual art too. I'm really interested in exploring the intersections between art and programming~ but realistically I have no idea what I wanna do with my life, right now I'm writing an English paper and loving it and feeling like I should drop out of school, move to a cabin in the woods, and write books instead. Thoreau teas. I'm a disaster.

Not coding battles

I don't really find the white spacing in Python too annoying, but I'm a huge stickler on keeping my stuff indented consistently in any language, so it doesn't really bother me I just love Python because it's so easy to read. If you understand the basic concepts of programming, it's pretty easy to pick it up and understand exactly what's going on... and it's not as bossy as Java (even though I <3 Java more anyways). Though I guess that leaves more room for mistakes.

Lemme google this Cordova/Phonegap stuff And you don't have to tell me about FB apps making money back in 2011! Lorde knows Farmville owned a chunk of my wallet for literally two years.

Really tho, Google There's really great documentation on everything and if you don't want to find it on the fly, then you probably won't have any luck as a programmer nowadays.

CSS is so cute. Never embed a style sheet though, always link to it in the head tag. It's so much easier to handle. But CSS is easy once you get the hang of it.

You're kidding Vespy white space differences is the biggest problem we face using python as c developers.

With c based languages white space doesn't matter, with python its everything I could never fmget used to that
