I don't recall Birthday Cake getting much mainstream attention. In fact, it's coverage was rather underwhelming considering how shocking It was.

BC caused buzz the minute TTT was released. People were so angry that such a good song was only a minute long.

And then the twitter trends when people wanted xtina or Britney for the Rih mix.

Don't even get me started when cb ended up being the feature. It was an explosive outrage. TV, radio, everyone talked about it.

They still play it on the radio and clubs and parties today. Beyonce could never with flawless or any single this era

I don't either. Bill O'Reily had more to say about Beyonce's behavior with her husband than of Rihanna doing a track with the man who nearly beat her to death (which in itself is very telling)

It had impact in music. Birthday Cake was the beginning of the ratched bad bitch era in music. The reason for Yonce/BaddieGalBey/BEYONCE etc.

Beyonce did get exposure for flawless but that was mainly because of how out of character it was from her new role as Blue Ivy's mother
