Katy is onto her 5th single and Germanotta has seemed to stop at just 3.
Not all of Katy's singles have been on par with Roar, but she's still making the era happen by releasing singles and making videos. There's really no reason why Germanotta shouldn't be doing the same.

People just weren't here for ARTPOP besides Applause and DWUW. Katy's been doing consistent promo and Gaga hasn't. Katy's coming off a massive era with 5 #1 singles. It's a no brainer the prism era has also been going downhill since Dark Horse
Both albums are great in their own right. Katy is a bigger name than Gaga right now, let's be real! It has nothing to do with one being generic or having another album coming...those are excuses! Katy is simply bigger than Gaga this era...period!!
Because the pop music world is fickle. Anyone saying it has anything to do with quality is delusional, both albums were pretty poor compared to previous works.
I think the better question is, why are four out of the last six threads you've created since being unbanned two days ago about or involve Gaga when it's clear that you don't particularly like her?
To answer the question though, at least in the US, it's likely due to the fact that Prism had four hits (two smashes plus two moderate hits), while ARTPOP only had two (one big hit plus one moderate hit). Logically, that explains why Prism has sold roughly double what ARTPOP has in the US.
