Not a good sign for Serena. Still missing that fire and we haven't seen it since last year's US Open. 45% first serves in is also a huge problem and most of them were half way down the net. She needs to flatten out those forehands and up her energy. Get fired up! Stop dwelling in the negative!

Yeah she's not going for her shots. Waiting for her opponents to make an error isn't going to cut it, especially on the FH side. Her serve is trash too. She has time to get it together. I think it's more mental than physical. I just need her to win one more slam

And @ you saying Serena's serve was non-existent in the Vika match The whole reason she won was because of her serves Vika was winning all the rallies in the 2nd set, and would've won the 2nd set and match had Serena not GOATed on serve in the 2nd set, especially the tiebreak

When Ana is hitting return winners off her backhand wing, she's GOATing. So sad she couldn't do it though. Maybe she'll have a chance to win more than one slam once Serena, Vika, and Maria are out. Even then she needs to hope she doesn't run into Bouchard (0-3) or Safarova (0-5).

Also, the serve is the one shot the player has complete control of. Why be mad at Serena for actually utilizing it when you can ask the rest of the girls to start improving theirs. And the last time I checked, Serena can't break someone's serve with her serve.
