I actually do agree that it says something when the majority of your fanbase is pleading with you to not release a song and you completely ignore it.
BUT imagine if this was never pushed back, we wouldve gotten the song and had to deal with it sooo.

In short, Anaconda is not the type of record I'd expect from a rapper on their 3rd album who wants the respect she says she does.

Ya. Anaconda doesn't scream "authenticity". Not because she didn't write it, but because its generic rap lyrics about asses and sex. And not even in a clever way with clever rhymes.

There's a difference between disrespect and constructive criticism.

But she didn't do that with Kim. She proved her lyricism was better and destroyed Kim. Why can't she just stick to that?

Nicki has never been the same since after 2011. I don't know what happened but everything just has went down hill in her own music quality since then. Her features are still hit and miss but at least she was more consistent in 2010 too.

I am friends with a good number of straight guys who are REALLY into rap. They all unanimously think Nicki is some stripper with a recording contract. I FIGHT for her whenever she comes up, and then she releases records like this.


What can you do? She is the only one to blame for her not having respect.
