I am not one to think people need to cover up, but to say that Nicki does not have young fans or has not in the past appealed to young people when she dressed like a cartoon for a few years, was regularly seen with Sophia and Rose, recorded young sounding pop songs like Starships and whose song Super Bass blew up because someone like Taylor Swift (appeals to young girls) endorsed it, is forgetting to much of her history.

But if we go by that logic, then Nicki Minaj should have NEVER been considered a children's artist to begin with because she started out with a trashy, raunchy image from the get go. And she still has it today. Super Bass (her most popular song by far) really isn't even child-friendly when you actually listen to the lyrics. Starships is literally a tiny drop in an ocean of raunchy, adult-friendly material.
Kids were going to gravitate towards her whether she intentionally targeted the pop market or not, because she makes catchy accessible music (even among her non-pop stuff), and she has a colorful image.
