Meryl Streep mastering Lady Gaga songs at rock camp
Ever since the project was announced we’ve all been dying to see Meryl Streep go full rocker chick for Diablo Cody’s film Ricki and the Flash. But the story of a struggling musician (Streep) who tries to reconcile with her estranged children has been on hold. Why, you ask? So Meryl can master the guitar, of course. According to Cody, director Jonathan Demme has insisted Streep attend rock and roll boot camp. Cody told The Hollywood Reporter, “Everything you hear, the band has to play and Meryl has to play.” Close your eyes, imagine Streep shredding. You’re welcome.
But the good news doesn't end there. Cody goes on to say that while Streep’s character will mostly play classic rock, they plan to mix some contemporary music in with the older hits. What does that mean? According to Cody, “You might hear some Lady Gaga in there.” Now close your eyes, imagine Streep shredding “Bad Romance.” You’re welcome.
