It's on Toei Animation's official YouTube and it's had an event announced in Tokyo with the Digimon team tweeting the event, and there is an official website.
We should've known this was coming. The Xros Wars feature, Digimon Adventure for PSP, all the toys they made. We should've known the amount of exposure first gen got that it was coming back

Continuation. The characters are now in high school. It's probably set before Digimon Adventure 02.
Which could actually work, because in Adventure 02 Tai and everybody were just happy to see the Digimon, there was no emotional reunion.
