I am not one to think people need to cover up, but to say that Nicki does not have young fans or has not in the past appealed to young people when she dressed like a cartoon for a few years, was regularly seen with Sophia and Rose, recorded young sounding pop songs like Starships and whose song Super Bass blew up because someone like Taylor Swift (appeals to young girls) endorsed it, is forgetting to much of her history.

Is a little bit of criticism really being hard on someone though? I mean, as an artist, you can't expect everyone to agree with the decisions you make. I don't think she gets criticism that other artists at her level of popularity don't get.

And while I don't think she has any obligation to be a role model, her whole look (at least in past) was definitely childish and appealing to young teens. Are there really adults who are rushing to buy Nicki Minaj albums? You can't get mad when people call her out for being a negative influence to young girls when that probably is her primary market.

Anyway to me it's silly to expect young people to not be interested in sex. It's going to happen. It's supposed to happen. Instead of freaking out about knowing this fact, we should aim to educate the youth about safe sex so the dangers we fear the youth will get into in the world of sex will no longer be an issue. Basically this amounts to safe sex education and education about the value / power / goals / rights of sex and your ownership of it.
