Lurking is creepy. I joined the same day I first discovered the site. I don't remember how I got to this site, but I saw the games section and wanted to be involved, so I signed up.

Less than a year. I lurked Summer 2012 (mainly for the A Million Lights release) then visited occasionally after that, always clicking the join button just in case.
